Abstract

The purpose of the Chief of Naval Operations Command/Management Information System (CNOCOM/MIS) study was to develop an overall operating system concept and an implementation plan as a framework within which the Information Systems Division could design and implement CNOCOM/MIS. The objective of the system concept and implementation plan is to provide the Chief of Naval Operations and the OPNAV staff a framework within which to develop the capability to acquire, store, retrieve, display, evaluate and transmit information from an integrated data base to achieve better support for the information requirements of the Navy. The system to be implemented is to be highly automated and capable of responding to requirements in a timely fashion. (A THOR)
