COMPRESSIBLE TURBULENT PLANE COUETTE FLOW WITH VARIABLE WALL TEMPERATURE.

Abstract

Equations describing compressible turbulent plane Couette flow for the general case of arbitrary wall enthalpy have been developed for a perfect gas based on the von Karman mixing length model. The procedure used was to obtain the velocity distribution near each wall and determine the matching point of the two profiles by the requirement that the velocities and their slopes must be equal at this point. Sample results are given in terms of the influence of heat transfer on velocity, enthalpy, and skin-friction distributions. (Author)
