DEVICE FOR INVESTIGATING THE EVAPORATION AND BREAKUP OF LIQUID DROPLETS,

Abstract

The report describes an arrangement for investigating the evaporation and breaking up of liquid droplets. The setup contains a hermetic chamber (with windows) connected to a pressure source, an electric heater, and a temperature sensor with an attachment for trapping the droplets. To ensure the investigation of superheated and atomizing droplets, the attachment for droplet trapping is placed inside a radiative cylindrical servo screen, whose temperature is maintained equal to the drop temperature, and the hermetic chamber is provided with a rupturing membrane for instantaneous drop.
