TURBINE SPEED REGULATOR,

Abstract

Turbine speed regulators for pneumatic or hydraulic turbines may consist, in the case of the normal configuration, of a turbine disc with rows of equally-spaced blades round the periphery, of a device for diverting to one side the jet from the nozzle, from time to time, and so reducing the power input. The proposed device offers more accurate control of speed by incorporating some type of gate valve in the fluid flow to the jet, capable of synchronized and regular operation by an auxiliary device. This regular lends itself to applications in automatic pneumatic instruments.
