Abstract

The document is concerned with the extent to which the arousal of emotion guides behavior and directs attention. The research represents a step in the direction necessary to answer this broad question. The ultimate theoretical concern rests with understanding the dynamics of mob behavior and the mass social action so prevalent now in society.
