THEORETICAL STUDIES OF QUANTUM SOLIDS AND LIQUIDS.

Abstract

The final report summarizes research performed under Office of Naval Research Contract N0001467-A-0230-0003 for the period 1 April 1968 to 30 June 1970 on Theoretical Studies of Quantum Solids and Liquids. Research is described on the phase separation in solid H2 - D2 mixtures, a cell model description of the crystalline state and the Bose Einstein condensed states of a quantum system, dilute liquid mixtures of 3He in 4He, and a new derivation of Guyer's theory of the ground-state of a quantum crystal.
