VIBRATIONAL SPECTRA OF SIMPLE MOLECULAR CRYSTALS.

Abstract

The objectives and methods for studying the Raman and infrared spectra of simple molecular crystals are described. Recent experimental results from this laboratory are reviewed, and compared with calculations based on model potentials for the intermolecular forces. The torsional vibration of ethane is also discussed briefly. (Author)
