THE COMPUTER SIMULATION OF A SPHERICALLY SYMMETRIC PLASMA,

Abstract

One-dimensional plasma problems with planar and spherical symmetry are studied by means of numerical simulation techniques. The finite length planar diode problem with a beam traveling through a neutralizing background of oppositely charged particles is treated and the effect of finite background mass and temperature on beam stability in this model is determined.
