COMPOSITE POLYMER FILMS FOR USE AS CAPACITOR DIELECTRICS.

Abstract

Methods of preparing polycarbonate and polysulfone films loaded with BaTiO3 and/or organic compounds have been modified and the dielectric properties of the films have been determined. The dielectric constants range from 3 to 184, and the energy storage capacity extends from 0.02 to 11.2 j/cu in. By the proper choice of percent BaTiO3 and of the organic component, films with a K of 134 and E of 10.2 j/cu in as the optimum can be cast. (Author)
