CIMPLE - CARD IMAGE MANIPULATOR FOR LARGE ENTITIES.

Abstract

'CIMPLE' (Card Image Manipulator for Large Entities) was written to facilitate the orderly modification and testing of large FORTRAN programs. The 80 character card images for source, object, or data decks are stored in 90 character fields on tape. A sequence number and a special symbol for each card image is stored in the last 10 characters of this 90 character field. The special symbols are used to distinguish original card images from those which have been added or deleted. In the case of FORTRAN source statements, an original card image is made a 'COMMENT CARD' if an attempt is made to delte it.
