PREDICTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PARAMETERS.

Abstract

The material contained herein reviews research efforts during the second year on Project Themis at Texas A and M University. These efforts have been concentrated in five primary research areas: analysis and prediction of atmospheric structure through use of dual frequency radars and associated ground facilities; cumulus cloud dynamics; analog modeling of the frictional boundary layer; design of a facility for direct measurement of Reynolds Stresses; and modification of cloud systems moving over areas of different water temperatures. The latter study, which was initially undertaken primarily as a dissertation subject, has been expanded and is now cooperatively sponsored by the Environmental Sciences Services Administration. The activities under all of the research subdivisions noted above are reviewed separately within. (Author)
