TURBULENT MIXING OF SUPERSONIC JETS.

Abstract

The mixing of compressible turbulent jets is investigated theoretically. Two solution techniques are presented. A FORTRAN IV computer coding is included for each technique. In the first method, the problem is solved by first writing the momentum and energy equations in Crocco variables. The resulting coupled pair of integral equations are solved numerically using a method of successive approximation. In the second method, the problem is solved, assuming self-similar solutions, by applying a coordinate transformation. The resulting coupled pair of nonlinear ordinary differential equations are solved numerically. (Author)
