RESULTS OF TESTING A CULTURAL ANTIRABIES VACCINE (Rezultat Ispytaniya Kulturalnoi Antirabicheskoi Vaktsiny),

Abstract

The cultural antirabies vaccine produced by the Institute of Poliomyelitis of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in experiments for immunizing farm animals (cattle, sheep, pigs), cats and dogs proved to be harmless and non-reactive. It was effective after a single immunization of dogs, large and small farm animals and pigs. The live vaccine was more effective than the inactivated vaccine. In dogs immunized with the inactivated and live vaccines the strength of the immunity persisted up to 9 months (observation time). (Author)
