TRENDS IN THE ROLE OF THE LABORATORY IN DIAGNOSIS.

Abstract

This discussion points up the importance of longitudinal mass screening by laboratory analysis, in the evaluation and prediction of current and incipient disease. The need for qualitative and quantitative improvement of automated methods, and of the supply of technical personnel required for laboratory operations in the development of modern preventive and clinical medical practice, private and institutional, is emphasized and illustrated.
