AN ATTEMPT TO DETECT THE LYMAN-ALPHA RADIATION FROM POSITRONIUM.

Abstract

The report describes an unsuccessful attempt to detect the Lyman-alpha radiation from the positronium atom. Pertinent aspects of positronium formation, Lyman-alpha emission, and subsequent decay are briefly introduced. A description of the experimental apparatus and procedure is presented. The results are discussed along with suggestions for improvements for future attempts. (Author)
