TREADING VEGETATION ON COSTA RICAN SOCCER FIELDS,

Abstract

Disturbance of vegetation under human foot trampling is but one of many modifications of plant life inviting biogeographic study. This report covers a brief, preliminary survey of foot treading vegetation as developed on soccer fields in tropical Costa Rica, a product of eight weeks (June 20 to August 17, 1969) travel and observation throughout this small and diverse Central American country during the wet season.
