MATHEMATICAL CARTOGRAPHY. VOLUME I.

Abstract

The textbook discusses the theory of cartographic projections. Methods of computation and construction of the most important cartographic nets is investigated, and the mathematical basis of cartometry is described. Selected cartographic tables, computed according to F. N. Krasovskiy's earth ellipsoid, are included in the Appendix, some of them published for the first time. The textbook contents are adjusted to the mathematical cartography curriculum for students of cartography in geography departments of universities. The book can be used by students from other educational institutions, and by operators in cartographic-geodetic practices. (Author)
