INTERPRETING SPHERICAL LANGMUIR PROBE DATA FOR THE COLLISIONLESS CASE.

Abstract

Techniques previously developed make it possible to reduce the interpretation of experimental Langmuir probe data to the reading of a single graph. The experimenter simply measures the electron temperature and one other parameter. The figures included in the document may then be consulted and the plasma potential and ion number density read directly therefrom without any iteration. (Author)
