DETAILED ANALYSIS OF SIMILAR SOLUTIONS IN DISSOCIATIONAL NONEQUILIBRIUM NOZZLE FLOWS.

Abstract

The problem of obtaining similar solutions in pseudo-one-dimensional dssociational nonequilibrium nozzle flows is considered. The governing equations are transformed into a similar form. The governing equations are further reduced to a near-universal form by suitable transformation of the variables such that solutions for all combinations of initial conditions may be presented in a single graph. It is shown that the equilibrium solutions depend on only a single parameter, and the nonequilibrium solutions depend on two parameters, which are also the exact, general correlating parameters. With this approach, flow quantities can be readily determined without resorting to complex computer programs. (Author)
