DIGITAL SIMULATION USING POISSON TRANSFORM SEQUENCES.

Abstract

The main purpose of the report is to introduce an alternative discrete sequence to time samples or to the coefficients in an orthonormal expansion for use in digital simulation. This discrete-time signal is generated by the Poisson transform sequence of a continuous-time signal. The Poisson transform sequence, like time sampling, gives a sequence of convenient form for the digital simulation of linear analog systems and, like coefficients in an orthonormal expansion, does not generate aliasing errors. In order to illustrate how the Poisson sequence may be applied, examples involving a third order Butterworth filter and an RLC network are presented. (Author)
