CONDENSATION BY HOMOGENEOUS NUCLEATION IN THE VAPOR PHASE,

Abstract

The history of nucleation theory and experimentation since 1926 is recounted and the current status of the theory is reviewed. The review reveals points that apparently went unnoticed in the past. A comparison of data obtained by cloud chambers and nozzles with theory points to essential agreement with the so-called classical theory. New results on the condensation of ethanol are added.
