THE INTEGRATOR PREDICTOR. A DIGITAL DRIVE SMOOTHING TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

The report documents results of tests conducted by the Missile Engineering Station to demonstrate feasibility of smoothly driving the Guided Missile Launching System (GMLS) Mk 13 through use of a digital drive converter similar to Raytheon Company's Analog Interface Device (AID). During the tests, a simulated digital drive signal representative of the AID output was recorded before and after filtering by an integrator predictor type smoothing circuit. The filtered output signal proved largely free of digital-noise characteristics evident in the unfiltered signal. From detailed analyses of test data, it was concluded that the smoothing circuits employed were effective for the purpose intended. (Author)
