THE MEASUREMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

The focus is on the application of information processing variables to the study of management information systems. A management information system is evaluated by: The range of relevant information used in decision-making, the number of different conceptions generated re: informational feedback, and the degree to which alternative perspectives are used in decision-making. In combination, these output measures define the information processing capacity of an organization and are strongly associated with effective decision-making in complex tasks. (Author)
