PROPERTIES OF A NaI(T1) TOTAL ABSORPTION SPECTROMETER FOR ELECTRONS AND Gamma-RAYS AT GeV ENERGIES,

Abstract

In the past two years the authors have reported on the properties of large NaI(T1) crystals as total absorption spectrometers for electrons and gamma-rays in the range 0.1 to 14 GeV. They have recently made similar measurements on a NaI(T1) spectrometer which is both larger than any that they have used before, and assembled in a different way. The report describes the results of the initial tests. (Author)
