ATTITUDES AND VALUES AS PREDICTIORS OF MILITARY PERFORMANCE,

Abstract

Prediction of effectiveness in adjusting to life in the military has been reasonably successful by depending on demographic variables such as level of schooling attained, life age, and family background or such measured factors as intelligence. But most of the variance is still unaccounted for and should be found in motivational factors. The present study reports outcomes of the study of attitudes of Marines in basic training as related to later ratings of military adaptation.
