Abstract
Loading characteristics of the Mk7-3 and M-21 arresting gears, given primarily as a function of weight and engaging speed, are presented in the following forms: (1) Non-dimensional load-stroke diagrams, (2) Peak arresting force (parallel to deck), (3) Supplementary information. Tolerance limits, as well as mean values, are given to show fluctuations in the arresting gear loads; these are based on 90% probability that 90% of the data will fall within the tolerance limit band.
