1-TRIMETHYLAMINO-1 -BERYL-2, 3-DICARBACLOSO-DODECABORANE(12) AND RELATED SPECIES.

Abstract

The reaction of 1,2-B7C2H13 with beryllium alkyls led to the insertion of the beryllium atom and an attached donor solvent molecule into the open face of the (3)-1,2-dicarbollide ion (Undecahydro-dicarba-closo-undecaborate(-2)). The resulting series of icosahedral species are described with respect to chemical and physical properties. (Author)
