THE MOTIVATIONAL EFFECTS OF KNOWLEDGE OF RESULTS: THE INFLUENCE OF GOAL-SETTING

Abstract

Research on knowledge of results (KR) has generally not controlled for motivational effects resulting from differential goal-setting. The present experiment was carried out to separate the effects of KR and goal-setting using a 2x2 fixed model design; the variables were KR versus No KR; and specific hard goals versus 'do best' goals.
