INTERACTION BETWEEN PERSONNELMEN AND ENLISTED MEN - A STUDY. VOLUME I.

Abstract

The study reports on the effects on Navy image resulting from the interaction between personnelmen (PNs) and their client enlisted men. A series of interviews and the responses to a sort questionnaire provided data on the agreements and disagreements between the groups. A major disagreement was investigated between the young enlisted man who emphasizes his requirement for equality and fairness and the older PN who emphasizes his information and record keeping role. Recommendations are made for the development of a selection battery for PNs, which would include an oral communication test. (Author)
