SIX-POUND WATER ACTIVATED ZINC-AIR STANDARD LINE BATTERY BA-535()/U.

Abstract

Twenty six-pound water activated 24 volt 20 ampere-hour zinc-air batteries were fabricated, of which eleven were supplied impregnated with potassium hydroxide for water activation and nine were supplied without KOH impregnation but with 34% aqueous KOH electrolyte separately packed. Acceptance testing of the battery at 75F, 40% R.H. was successfully carried out, the sample selected yielding 24.2 A-h, or a power density of 84 watt hrs/lb. (Author)
