COMPUTER SUPPORT OF MILITARY EDUCATION AND TRAINING. A STUDY OF TERMINOLOGY,

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the terminology related to the many uses of computer systems in support of military education and training. An extensive survey of the literature was accomplished to identify those terms (many of which are conflicting) currently used within industry and the field of education. A logical framework is established for the consideration of the roles which the computer plays in education with emphasis on the modes, teaching logics and parameters associated with the instructional applications of computers. Finally, a set of terms and their definitions is proposed for use within the military services. (Author)
