STRENGTH OF MULTIPLE-MEMBER STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The load-sharing concept asserts that wood beam and deck structures are not of the weakest-link type and their design need not be based on the strength of the weakest member. This report analyzed brittlest-link structures and compared them with the weakest-link type. A simple prototype structure was employed. (Author)
