THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS' EXPRESSED PERCEPTIONS OF BEHAVIOR AND READINESS FOR ASSISTANCE.
Abstract
The central purpose of the study was to determine whether prospective clients were influenced to accept or resist help by their perceptions of certain behaviors of significant persons in their immediate environment. In addition, information was also sought about the possible effect of the time spent with these significant others on these influences; and, if certain behaviors of the prospective clients demonstrated during their initial interviews in a mental hygiene facility were associated with their acceptance of or resistance to help.
