DISJUNCTIVE CANONICAL FORMS FOR GENERALIZATIONS OF THE COMPOSITE DEFINITE EVENT.

Abstract

Unique disjunctive canonical forms have been defined for several classes of events, all of which are generalizations of the composite definite event. A generalized composite event which includes all of these events, and more generally, any event containing concatenations of the free semigroup, A*, has been introduced. Some necessary conditions for the generalized event to be canonically represented have been listed. It is shown, however, that these conditions are not sufficient to provide a unique form. (Author)
