FINE MESH UPPER AIR ANALYSIS MODEL.

Abstract

Details of AFGWC fine mesh upper air analysis program are presented along with equations used to derive the first guess fields. The analysis technique is a method of successive corrections to the first guess field. A variable scan radius is used which maximizes details over dense data regions and which minimizes unwanted irregularities over sparse data regions. (Author)
