THE STRESS INTENSITY FACTOR OF A GRIFFITH CRACK WHICH IS OPENED BY A THIN SYMMETRIC WEDGE,

Abstract

The problem of determining the distribution of stress (within the terms of the classical theory of elasticity) in the vicinity of a Griffith crack which is opened by a thin symmetric wedge appears to have been considered first by Markuzon. In this paper the author solves the problem by alternative approach which is based on a recent development in the theory of triple integral equations. (Author)
