COMBUSTION FUNDAMENTALS,

Abstract

Fundamental aspects of combustion are reviewed with particular emphasis on turbulence and stirred reactor concepts. The results are applied to several systems of practical importance: The optimization of burner design minimizing pressure loss; The design and constraints of supersonic combustors; The generation of aperiodic combustion oscillations (i.e., combustion roar).
