THE EFFECTS OF MODALITY PREFERENCES AND PRESENTATION MODALITIES ON LEARNING AND RECALL

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the recall and learning of material presented in a bisensory fashion, that is, via auditory and visual modalities, as a function of specific modality preferences for one or the other of the senses involved. Such studies appear to be essential if individual differences in modality preferences are to be identified and their possible interactive effects with different treatments determined.
