RESOURCE USE AND OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT,

Abstract

The study examines the question of whether maintenance planning factors differ between combat and non-combat environments. Data from the Navy maintenance and material management information system provide a means of measuring the extent of maintenance activity being conducted by organizational and intermediate echelons of maintenance support. On the basis of the empirical evidence, it would appear that shipboard maintenance resource use is reasonably constant between combat and non-combat environments. (Author)
