PROSPECTS FOR A PSYCHOMETRIC THEORY BASED ON UTILITY MEASURE,

Abstract

The paper is a brief survey of a new orientation which is coming to the fore in psychometric theory. Several investigators have reported utility solutions to specific technical problems but the utility approach is not limited to certain particular questions. It is a general model for all psychometrics. In order to show it in this light, the report mentions its basic concepts, its mathematical roots, and some of its practical consequences. (Author)
