MULTIFORMAT ELECTROLUMINESCENT DISPLAY.

Abstract

The objective of the program was to demonstrate the utility of Thin Film Electroluminescence (TFEL) as a display media through mechanization of three demonstrators. Each demonstrator has a different display format typical of potential applications of this media for airborne displays. The display formats mechanized were (1) dual bargraph, (2) flight control (docker), and (3) warning annunciator. Each unit was designed, constructed, tested, and packaged as a portable, self-contained demonstrator. A preliminary proposed technical approach for evaluation of displays within military aircraft was also prepared. (Author
