UNIQUENESS OF SOLUTION IN THREE-DIMENSIONAL MELTING AND SOLIDIFICATION PROBLEMS.

Abstract

Conditions for uniqueness of solution are established for three-dimensional heat conduction problems with change of phase. Two cases are considered, one in which the newly formed phase remains stationary upon formation, the other in which it is instantaneously removed. Various special examples are discussed. (Author)
