RESEARCH ON METHODS FOR ESTABLISHING MINIMUM PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR NAVY JOBS.

Abstract

Project activities during the period 15 June 1951 through 15 June 1952 included: a survey of literature on physical demands analysis, physical capacities analysis, physical efficiency tests, and the development and utilization of physical profiling systems; compilation of a bibliography; collection of physical capacities forms and physical demands forms; a detailed analysis of the items found on physical demands forms and physical capacities forms; collection of manuals and other descriptive literature on physical demands forms, physical capacities forms, and physical profiling systems; development of experimental physical requirements and physical capacities forms; and development of a research design for testing and evaluating the experimental forms; collection and tabulation of data through use of the experimental physical requirements form. The report summarizes these activities and the results thereof, and presents suggestions for further research. (Author)
