THE STATIC AND DYNAMIC ELASTIC MODULI, REAL MODULI, OF GLASS FIBER-EPOXY AND BORON FIBER-ALUMINUM COMPOSITES.

Abstract

Measurements of elastic modulus and real modulus of FRP/epoxy and boron fiber/ aluminum composites have been made by several methods and compared with the values from the literature. Static bending, longitudinal pulse propagation in a bar, and lonitudinal resonance of a bar were used as experimental methods. The results were compared with static bending, static tension, dynamic bending, and theoretical values of the elastic moduli taken from the literature. It is concluded that the well determined static moduli can be used in dynamic studies of the two materials considered. (Author, modified-PL)
