WIND TUNNEL TESTS OF ROTATING BODIES, 4TH SERIES,

Abstract

Wind tunnel tests were conducted on a number of rotating bodies. Primarily the tests covered various configurations of spheres. Variations of ellipsoids, discs, and a composite sphere were also tested. The primary purpose of the tests was to determine the differences in aerodynamic characteristics due to changing the configurations and to gather general information on the aerodynamic characteristics of the different shapes. This report presents the results of the tests and tells how they were obtained. (Author)
