HEMODYNAMICS OF THE MESENTERIC CIRCULATION.

Abstract

A brief summary is given of work undertaken to delineate the relationship between intestinal motor activity and blood flow; to delineate intestinal circulatory responses to naturally occurring vasoactive agents; to delineate the relationship between intestinal absorption and blood flow; and to develop animal models for the study of diarrheal disease and shock as they affect the gut or its circulation.
