DEVELOPMENT OF THE QK172 AND QK321 9375 Mc PULSE MAGNETRONS.

Abstract

The X-band pulse magnetron operates at a frequency of 9375 plus or minus 45 mc and produces a minimum peak power of 460 kilowatts at a maximum pulse duration of three microseconds and a .001 duty cycle. The QK172 magnetron includes a permanent magnet and incorporates an 18-vane rising sun anode, and indirectly heated tungsten thoria cermet cathode as well as a waveguide output system with a matched ceramic output window.
