NEUTRON STREAMING THROUGH TWO-LEGGED CONCRETE DUCTS WITH BAFFLES.

Abstract

The study was to determine the effectiveness of baffles in concrete ducts in the attenuation of nuclear radiation. Five baffle configurations were tested in a two-legged concrete duct. The neutron source used was the Fast Burst Reactor at the Nuclear Effects Branch of the White Sands Missile Range. Neutron spectra at the entrance to and within the duct were measured with foil threshold detectors. (Author)
