THE PHYSICAL TENSOR AND APPLICATION.

Abstract

The fundamentals of the physical tensor and its analysis in the n-dimensional vector space V sub n are set up. The n-coordinate networks, the local and dual n-systems, the n-space derivative, the first and second curvature tensors in Vn and the space derivatives of field tensors of arbitrary order with respect to the n-curvilinear-oblique coordinate networks, are discussed and presented in both the magnitude and the absolute notations. As application, the generalization of the equation of the general balance to the four-dimensional vector space V sub 4 yields the non-conservative, special-relativistic theory of continuum electromechanics.
