SELECTED STUDIES IN MICROWAVE ACOUSTICS.

Abstract

The report describes research in the areas of Bragg diffraction from magnetostatic, and magnetoelastic waves and microcircuit resonators using acoustic surface waves, and unpublished work done prior to that time on the properties of thin film and bulk materials for acoustic resonators. It also includes abstracts of reports and publications under the contract in the areas of light diffraction by magnetic waves, studies of acoustic properties of materials related to microcircuit bulk wave resonators, generation and propagation of microwave acoustic waves in epitaxial YIG films, investigation of novel magnetoelastic variable delay lines, electronically controlled deflection and focusing of acoustic beams in magnetic ad piezoelectric materials, efficient frequency doubling in ferrites, microwave dielectric resonators as circuit elements, and the theory of microwave thin film bulk wave transducers.
